On 26 August, Ms. TAKAHASHI Misako, Director-General, Assistant Minister of African Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Ambassador SUZUKI Hideo paid a courtesy call on Ms. Wafaa Saeed Abdelatef, UNICEF Nigeria Country Representative.
They exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in Nigeria, UNICEF’s work on the ground and successful partnership models between the Japanese private sector and UNICEF in other African countries.
Ms. TAKAHASHI expressed appreciation for UNICEF’s dedicated work in support of women and children, commended the Japanese Junior Professional Officer (JPO), who is attached to UNICEF Nigeria, for her contributions, and encouraged her to make the most of this valuable opportunity at UNICEF Nigeria. She underscored Japan’s commitment to working closely with UNICEF to strengthen resilience and deliver brighter futures for crisis-affected populations in Nigeria.
