Ambassador Suzuki Meets with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation

On 3 August 2026, Ambassador SUZUKI Hideo paid a courtesy call on H.E. Senator George Akume, CON, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
They exchanged views on further strengthening Japan–Nigeria relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and development cooperation. Ambassador Suzuki commended Nigeria’s ongoing economic reform efforts and highlighted the potential for greater cooperation in both traditional sectors and new fields including the creative industries.
Both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and mutually beneficial partnership between Japan and Nigeria.
