THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN, THROUGH UNESCO-IICBA, DONATES ICT EQUIPMENT TO 15 COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN NIGERIA
On 2 June 2026, Mr. Hitoshi Kozaki, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria, participated in the handover ceremony of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities under Japan’s funded project for Capacity Building of Teachers to Promote Continuous and Inclusive Access to Safe and Quality Education for Girls in West Africa, held at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.
Implemented by the Federal Ministry of Education and UNESCO-IICBA, the project equipped 15 Colleges of Education across Nigeria with laptops, tablets, desktop computers, smart boards, projectors, printers, and backup hard drives to strengthen teacher education, enhance digital literacy, and promote gender-responsive learning.
Mr. Kozaki reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to quality education in Nigeria and Africa, emphasizing investment in teachers to improve learning outcomes, particularly for girls and vulnerable learners.
