The Embassy of Japan in the Federal Republic of Nigeria is happy to announce that the 2027 MEXT Scholarship Program for Research, Undergraduate, College of Technology and Specialised Training College is now open for application.

Please note that:
  • Please write the document number shown in the application documents table in the application guidelines at the upper right-hand corner of the first page for all the documents.
 
  • Incomplete applications WILL NOT be processed.
 
  • Applicants for Research category must be born on or after 2 April 1992, while applicants for Undergraduate, College of Technology and Specialised Training College categories must be born on or after April 2, 2002.
 
 
KINDLY AND CAREFULLY TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING

 
  1. Applicants MUST study the application guidelines carefully and follow all the instructions therein, before submitting.
 
  1. Make sure to fill out correctly every part of the scholarship application forms. Failure to do so will make your application ineligible, leading to disqualification.
 
  1. Please check that the original academic transcript has been submitted.
 
  1. A photocopy of the graduation certificate or the degree certificate is acceptable if the photocopy is attested by an authorized official of the university. (Do not submit the originals as the submitted documents will not be returned.)
 
  1. Application package MUST be submitted as hardcopy, in-person or by post only. No online/email submission will be accepted.
 
  1. INCOMPLETE submission of application documents (e.g. a copy of graduation certificate/transcripts, recommendation letter, medical certificate form, etc.) will render the application ineligible, therefore, will not be processed or screened.
 
  1. Please, be aware that, if your selected courses are not related to your research plan, you WILL NOT be accepted by the university and WILL BE UNABLE to study in Japan under the program. This applies to only RESEARCH Students category.
 
  1. Please, application package(s) must be carefully and neatly arranged accordingly, to avoid disqualification.
 
  1. Only successful candidates will be contacted at every point of the screening exercise. Be informed that there are some other criteria for screening not contained in this note.
