Emperor's Birthday Reception 2026

On 12 February, Ambassador Suzuki hosted a reception on the occasion of His Majesty the Emperor's Birthday.
The reception was held with great success, attended by approximately 400 guests, including Minister of Budget and Economic Planning H.E. Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
In his speech, Ambassador Suzuki introduced His Majesty the Emperor's activities for 2025. He also noted that 2025 was a year that saw the strengthening of Japan-Nigeria relations, with many dignitaries, including President Tinubu and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tuggar, visiting Japan on the occasion of TICAD 9 and the Osaka Kansai Expo.
Guests were also given the opportunity to view a sushi-rolling demonstration by the Ambassador’s residence chef and enjoyed Japanese cuisine, sake, and wine, providing an experience to savour Japan's appeal from diverse perspectives.
