On 5 February 2026, Ambassador Hideo SUZUKI paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in Enugu.

The Ambassador shared highlights from his visit to Adani for the commissioning and handover ceremony of a combined harvester and power tillers under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)—aimed at improving farming efficiency and supporting livelihoods and food security.

Governor Mbah welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for Japan’s timely support, noting Enugu’s plans to scale up agro-technology, reduce post-harvest losses, and strengthen industrialization.

The Ambassador additionally briefed the Governor on a new GGP project in Enugu East LGA—the provision of a medical waste incinerator and a solar power system.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation, in support of the development of Enugu State and Nigeria.
