2025/8/14

On 4 August 2025, Ambassador SUZUKI Hideo attended the Opening Ceremony of the IgniteHer Bootcamp – Cohort 2, held at Rockview Hotel Royale, Abuja. The program is a joint initiative of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aimed at empowering 300 Nigerian women entrepreneurs.
Under the theme “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs for Growth and Innovation,” the Bootcamp seeks to equip female startup founders, business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs with digital and business skills needed to thrive in today’s economy. The two-week hybrid training includes sessions on business planning, access to finance, digital tools, and AI applications.
In his remarks, Ambassador SUZUKI reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting women-led innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
This initiative aligns with Japan’s broader efforts under the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) to advance inclusive development, digital transformation, and private sector growth across Africa.
