Strengthening Japan-Nigeria Relations in Lagos State

On 16 April, Mr. KOZAKI Hitoshi, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria, attended a meeting between the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. YUZURIO Susumu at the Lagos House, Marina.
During the meeting, the Governor and Mr. YUZURIO discussed strengthening partnerships in key sectors such as infrastructure, electricity, and public health within Lagos State.

Mr. KOZAKI emphasized the importance of Lagos State to the Nigerian economy and noted the active presence of many Japanese companies there. He also described Lagos as a crucial gateway for Japanese business operations and investment in Nigeria and Africa, stressing the importance of ongoing cooperation for both nations.

Japan remains committed to fostering strong partnerships with Nigeria through mutual cooperation.
