The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria has a vacancy for 1 (One) Assistant for Culture and Information section.
 
1. Vacant Position
・Title: Assistant for Culture and Information section
・Number of vacancy: 1 (One)
・Contract period: One year*
* It is renewable annually if the performance assessment is satisfactory. Signing of the contract is subject to
 3 (Three)-month probationary period.
・Location: Embassy of Japan in Nigeria (No.9, Bobo Street (off Gana Street), Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria)
 
・Salary, bonus and allowance*: They will be determined according to the skills and experiences of the
 successful candidate.
・Full/Part time: Full-time (38 hours 45 minutes/week)*.
* The position will require occasional overtime work (including evenings, weekends and/or holidays).
・Working Hours: Mon – Thu: 8:00 to 17:30 (Lunch break: 12:00 to 13:00)
                           Fri: 8:00 to 12:45
・Holidays: Nigerian holidays and selected Japanese national holidays.
・Annual leave: Provided according to the number of years of service.

2. Job Description
・Writing and editing press releases, articles, and other communication materials.
・Creating and updating Embassy’s homepage and social media accounts.
・News clipping of cultural affairs for the Embassy staff.
・Drafting speeches and presentations.
・Responding to the enquiries to the section.
・Organizing Embassy’s cultural events.
・Maintaining and expanding strong working relationships with governmental entities, media organizations, 
   educational institutions, cultural bodies, and other key stakeholders of the section.
・Other administrative and logistical work assigned by the Chief of the Section
 
3. Qualifications
・ Must hold an undergraduate degree.
・Knowledge of Japan, Japanese language and culture will be highly considered.
・Must have basic computer skills/knowledge of the Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point).
・ Must be able to update social medias (e.g. Facebook, Instagram etc.).
・Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
・Should be a good team player who can be cheerful, flexible, and trustworthy.  
・In possession of Nigerian nationality or permanent resident status in Nigeria
・Must have a valid Nigerian I.D. with a photo.
・Must be able to provide a security clearance certificate (i.e. criminal record book).
 
4. Selection Process

(2) 1st interview with a computer skills assessment
(3) 2nd interview
・Only successful candidates will be contacted for the 1st and 2nd interviews.
・Reference verification may be conducted during the selection period.
