The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria has a vacancy for one (1) Economic and Development Cooperation Assistant.
1. Vacant Position
● Position Title: Economic and Development Cooperation Assistant
● Number of required: 1 (One) position
● Type of Employment: One year*
* Renewable. Subject to 3 (Three)-month probationary period.
● Location: Embassy of Japan in Nigeria
No.9, Bobo Street (off Gana Street), Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria
● Applicability: A degree in economics or economic policy is desirable (Bachelor's degree or above).

● Salary, Bonus and Allowance*: Depending on skills and experiences.
* To be announced to the successful candidate when the Embassy decidees to recruit.
● Job Environment: Full-time (38 hours 45 minutes/week)*.
* Overtime work (including evenings, weekends and/or holidays), and response to urgent summons will be required from time to time.
● Working Hours: Mon – Thu: 8:00 to 17:30 (Lunch break: 12:00 to 13:00)
Fri: 8:00 to 12:45
● Annual leave and Holidays: Provided in accordance with internal regulations.

2. Job Description
● Collect up-to-date data and information on the economy and analyze economic trends.
● Conduct research on economic indicators, market trends, and industry development.
● Conduct research on changes in economic policy and legislation and analyze their impact.
● Prepare and present research reports and analytical material in the economic field.
● Propose and evaluate new partnerships and projects in development cooperation planning work.
● Manage the progress of development cooperation projects and communicate with stakeholders.
● Evaluate the effectiveness and results of development cooperation relations and compile reports and recommendations.
● Other administrative assistance
3. Qualifications/Skills/Experience
● Extensive knowledge and interest in economics.
● Should have skills in statistical analysis and data analysis
● Good ability to gather information on the economy and select reliable sources of information
● Good communication skills and the ability to prepare reports and presentations
● Ability to work in a team and adhere to deadlines.
● Have an interest in and understanding of development cooperation-related planning work
● Must have Computer Skills/ Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT and Word, etc...)
● Cheerful, courteous and cooperative manner in dealings with all members of Embassy staff, and guests;
● Demonstrate Flexibility and versatility;
● Written and oral communication skills in English;
● Attention to detail and thoroughness in following through with tasks to completion;
● Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work within a team;
● Displays personal integrity and an honest and ethical approach.
