At the opening ceremony of the LITF 2018, Ambassador Kikuta gave a goodwill speech on behalf of all the international participants in the trade fair, highlighting the importance of promotion of trade and investment relations with foreign countries for the development of Nigeria and wishing a great success of the trade fair.

Shortly after the opening ceremony of the LITF 2018, on the occasion of celebrating the opening of the Japan Pavilion, Ambassador Kikuta, joined by Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and other distinguished guests, performed Kagami-Biraki, which is a Japanese traditional ceremony to open Sake barrel with hammers usually held on special occasions. This Kagami-Biraki performance was conducted perhaps for the first time in Nigeria, wishing for the Japan Pavilion and the trade fair to be a great success.

After the Kagami-Biraki, the Vice President and Ambassador took a look around the Japan Pavilion together with Mr. Nishizawa, Trade Commissioner of JETRO Lagos, and other distinguished guests, visiting the exhibitions of many Japanese companies.

The theme of this year’s Japan Pavilion is “Made in Japan, Made for Women,” and a lot of Japanese companies demonstrate their products and services designed for women. Japan Pavilion is well attended with more than 30 Japanese companies participating with full of energy. The Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with JETRO and JICA, proactively introduced various pieces of Japanese culture to the visitors and let everyone know about Japan’s activities in Nigeria.

The LITF and Japan Pavilion are open until 11th November.
