The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria has one vacancy in the Consular Section for a full-time assistant.

3. Working Conditions
(1) Working Hours
Mon – Thu: 8:00 to 17:30 (Lunch break: 12:00 to 13:00)
Fri: 8:00 to 12:45
​   ​ Full-time (38 hours 45 minutes/week)
​​    ​Overtime work (including evenings, weekends and/or holidays), and response to urgent summons will be required from time to time.
(2) Salary, Bonus and Allowance
Depending on skills and experiences.
(3) Annual leave and Holidays
Provided in accordance with internal regulations.
 
4. Contract Period
  • One-year contract from late January or early February, 2024 
  • The first three (3) months is a probation period for your employment
  • Contract renewal is based on an agreement from both sides
5. Qualifications
  • In possession of Nigerian nationality or permanent resident status in Nigeria
  • Must have a valid I.D. with your photo
  • Be able to provide security clearance certificate (i.e. criminal record book)
6. Duties
Counter service, telephone and e-mail support, data entry, and other embassy-related duties as directed by diplomats.
 
7. Job Requirements
  • Well-acquainted with software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong planning, multi-tasking
  • Must be able to work overtime on occasion
  • Demonstrate flexibility and versatility
  • Demonstrate ability to build and maintain effective relationships and team-oriented
  • Displays personal integrity and an honest and ethical approach
  • Must be punctual and be able to keep strict start times in the morning due to consular contact duties

10. Selection Process
Selection process consists of document screening and interview(s). Only successful candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
