***Validity of a certificate of eligibility***

Applicable certificates of eligibility
 Issued on or after January 1, 2020

Period deemed to be valid 
• Certificates of eligibility issued between January 1, 2020, and October 31, 2021
 → Until April 30, 2022

• Certificates of eligibility issued between November 1, 2021, and April 30, 
 2022
 → Valid for 6 months from the date of issue


***For certificates of eligibility which issued on or after January 1, 2020 and have passed more than 3 months from the date of issuance***
A letter stating the content below is required at the time of visa application;

***Processing time and flight reservation***

Due to the border measures taken by the Government of Japan for prevention of COVID-19, the examination process of visa application is expected to take longer than usual, therefore it is advisable for you to submit visa application at least 1 month before intended date of departure.

In other words, intended date of departure from Nigeria on your flight reservation slip needs to be at least in one month time from the date of visa application. Please note that we do not require purchase of flight tickets.

 
***How to book an appointment***

Considering the current Novel coronavirus outbreak, visits to the consular section are by appointment only and the consular section opens from 8:30 - 11:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday except Embassy's closure days.
