“Short-term business affairs, etc.” includes:
- Participation in meetings, cultural exchange, exchange between municipalities, sports exchange, etc.
- Business liaison, conference, business meeting, contract signing, after-sales service, advertising, market research, etc.

- Passport must be original.
- Passport must have at least one blank page.
- Passport must be with sufficient validity until the end of the intended period of stay in Japan
- When traveling from Nigeria to Japan, there may be restrictions on the remaining period of the passport at transit countries. Regarding this, please be advised to contact with airline companies you are planning to use well in advance.
- Original is required.
- Please fill out every field of visa application form accurately and completely. If item is not applicable, please fill in [N/A].
- Applicant must sign by himself/herself on the second page of visa application form, and the signature must correspond with the signature on the passport.
- Parent should sign for a minor applicant who cannot sign.
- Scanned signature is not acceptable.
- Original is required.
- 45mm × 35mm, with white background, taken within 6 months.
- The photo has to be glued to the space provided on the visa application form. Do not use stapler.

- Purchase of flight ticket is not required.
- Flight reservation slip must include Name of passenger, Airline company name, Flight number, Departure date and time from Nigeria, Arrival and departure date and time for transit, Arrival date and time in Japan, and Departure date and time from Japan.

- For last 3 months, issued within 1 month.
- If visa applicant's employer pays for all the travel expenses, employer's bank statement is required.
- If visa applicant pays for all the travel expenses, visa applicant's bank statement is required.
- e.g. memorandum and articles of association, a copy of form of application for registration of a business name, letter of employment, confirmation of appointment, promotion letter etc.
- Both original and photocopies are required.

- The certificate should state the purpose of travel, duration (departure date and arrival date) and the sponsorship for applicant's travel expenses (air ticket cost and expenses for the applicant’s stay in Japan)
- In case of student, an introduction letter from school is required.
- In case of self-employment, unemployment, and retiree, a self-introduction letter is required.

2. Prepared by inviting organizarion/guarantor in Japan
(1) Letter of Invitation
- photocopy is acceptable.
- The inviting organization should be a corporate body, an organization, or the state/local government. However, for example, the professor/associate professor can be recognized as the inviting organization if a university extends an invitation for the purpose of exchanges under his/her name.
- The letter should be addressed to the Japanese ambassador.
- Explain details of activities planned in Japan related to the purpose of visit to Japan. (Specify the background and purpose of the invitation)
- Indicate the address, name, and telephone number in the column for an inviting person.
- Only when there are two or more applicants.

- Registered corporations should use a certified copy of the corporate register that has been issued within the last three months (not required for the national or regional governments).
- For the company listed on a stock exchange in Japan, it may alternatively submit a copy of the latest ‘Kaisha Shikiho’ (Japanese Company Handbook or quarterly corporate report).
- Only unregistered corporations should prepare a “Summary of the Company/Organization” instead of a corporate register.
- Submit the Certificate of Employment of a university professor/associate professor if he/she invites the visa applicant.

- Specify the date of arrival and departure, flights and airports/ports
- Write the place of stay in detail. If staying at hotel, write its name, address and phone number.
- The schedule of stay needs to be written for each day. If an activity continues on consecutive days, the format “(date) – (date)” is acceptable.
3. Prepared by inviting organizarion/guarantor in Japan who pays for the travel expenses
(1) Letter of guarantee
- Photocopy is acceptable.
- It is required when the inviting organizarion/guarantor in Japan will pay for the travel expenses.
- Complete all items in the Letter of Guarantee, as the omission of even a single item renders it incomplete.
- Complete the form in the same manner as the Invitation Letter
